Senate Bill 553 created what is likely the most onerous and detailed new legal requirement for 2024. Without assistance, dealers will struggle to meet all the new requirements without significant human capital additions. The new law goes into effect in July 2024. This new law requires a new detailed Workplace Prevention and Response Plan, new training, and requires dealers to perform ongoing investigations and incident reporting of a broad array of workplace violence situations.
