Director of Government Affairs
Cliff Costa, Director of Government Affairs for the California New Car Dealers Association (CNCDA), has over 13+ years’ experience in advocacy, public policy and political campaigns. He served almost a decade in the California State Senate and State Assembly as Legislative Director and Legislative Aide to a number of different legislators representing Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Cliff lobbies the Legislature and agencies on issues impacting California’s franchised new car dealers and other consumer protection issues. Cliff also oversees CNCDA’s Political Action Committees (PACs), annually worth over half a million dollars, and worked on several Independent Expenditures (IEs) which participated in a number of Congressional, statewide and legislative races throughout California.
Cliff is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the McGeorge School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the state courts in California. Cliff’s wife, Trang, is a teacher in West Sacramento. He is also on the advisory board for non-profit, Crime Victims Action Alliance.
