Scholarship Foundation
The California New Car Dealers Scholarship Foundation has awarded $41,475 in scholarships to 103 California students enrolled in post-secondary automotive technology or automotive management programs for the 2011-2012 school year.
One-hundred-one students studying automotive technology received scholarships, totaling $36,875 including Miguel Preciado, a freshman attending UTI in Rancho Cucamonga, who was awarded the “Bill & Harriett Bader Memorial Scholarship,” and 39 students who are enrolled in factory-specific programs.
Additionally, two students were awarded a combined total of $4,600 for pursuing an Auto Management degree at Northwood University. Paul Zurita, a junior from Bellflower, California attending Northwood at the Cerritos campus was the recipient of the Jay Gorman Education Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement. Nathan Shaver, a freshman studying at Northwood's Michigan campus, received the other Auto Management award. Since 1995, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to students pursuing Automotive Marketing/Management degrees from Northwood University, which, in addition to southern California, has campuses in Michigan, Texas and Florida.
